If you’re like me, you don’t like having your picture taken and put it off until the perfect hair day or for a “skinny” day!
But, having an event planning headshot is a great piece to include in your event planning portfolio and on your website.
Thankfully, there are many photo editing programs that can soften wrinkles, remove dark circles from under our eyes or get rid of people or backgrounds in the picture.
Why Your Photo is a Key Piece of Your Event Planning Marketing
As an event planner, you’ll be going to someone’s office or even their home (depending on what kind of events you plan). Your clients are hiring YOU and not just your event planning business and they’ll want to know what you look like when they visit your website. And with sites like Facebook and Twitter, you need a headshot that represents your professional identity and your event planning business.
What Your Event Planning Headshot Says About You
Your headshot communicates a lot about you and gives your prospective clients a sense of what it will be like to work with you. Lighting, background, your clothes, and how your hair is styled communicate your personality.
Right or wrong, people make assumptions instantly based on your event planning headshot so, before you take your next photo for your business, make sure it’s personable, experienced (this doesn’t mean old!), stylish, and trustworthy.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
In the comments below, do you have a professional headshot? Do you think it’s important to have one? Why or why not?
I look forward to seeing you next Wednesday!
