What’s The Event Planning Competition In Your Area?

It’s so easy to talk ourselves out of starting our event planning business or taking our events to the next level to actually getting paid to plan them for colleagues, friends or family.

If you really want to get started in event planning, stop making excuses!

Get Ahead of Your Event Planning Competition

I recently heard from an event planner that said, “There are too many event planners in my area, so there must not be room for my event planning services.” How do you get ahead of your event planning competition? Here are three steps:
  1. Do a Google search to find your event planning competition in your area.
  2. Take out the event planners that aren’t marketing to the same event niche market that you are.
  3. Figure out how many clients you’ll need to survive as an event planner? If you price your event planning services correctly, which is included in The Event Toolkit, it’s probably a small percentage.

Have A Hobby Or Build A Business?

There are a lot of event planners who plan events as a hobby and aren’t interested in building a business, so get out and meet the event planning competition in your area. Go to networking events, industry events, or give them a call or send an email to inquire about their services.

Is it true that it’s hard to compete in your area?

Event planning is a fast growing industry and the sooner you get started and become the authority in your niche market, the less you’ll worry about the “competition.”
