When planning an event, picking a great venue is critical. In fact, the location has the power to make or break the success of the event. It affects a number of things including your budget, the number of guests who can attend, the date and time of your event but, more importantly, the venue gives the attendees the very first impression of the event and will set the tone for their entire experience.
Do you REALLY know how to choose the right venue for your event? There is so much on the line when it comes to picking the right venue, it can be overwhelming – especially if you are new to the event planning world. Over the coming weeks, I’m going to give you a FREE step-by-step guide to help you choose the right venue for your event.
Be careful of choosing hotels because they’ll give you a little for a lot – a lot of $$ out of YOUR budget. So use your creative side to research other, suitable, venue options.
Before Choosing The Right Your Venue For Your Event
Before you can even begin looking at the different venues for your event, you must have a firm understanding of the concept or goal of the event you are coordinating. You will need to know things like the audience that will be attending. This will include things like gender, age, and the purpose of why everyone will be attending. A corporate event may look very different than a non-profit fundraiser or party so it is imperative to get as much information as possible.
Another item that is very important to determine prior to choosing your venue is the budget for the event. The last thing you want to do is spend your entire budget on the venue (refer to my comment about hotels!) as that will leave nothing else for all of the additional details you need to cover. So, take the time to sit down and work this out before you look at venues and this will definitely save you a lot of stress in the future.
I’d love to hear from you, please feel free to comment below and share how you choose the right venue for your event(s).
